Ode to Irresolution

How many resolutions trashed
E’re even one of twelve months passed?

Doing the same, expecting different
How much Life is thusly misspent?

Mayans and Madness, center stage
To bob and weave in this New Age

Whichever year that this form ends
Believers will wanna make amends

As well, before their souls depart
Of love & joy, they’d take more part

“Non-Believers”, although differently
Would spend their last time carefully

Year after year, in state of emergency
Defense Industry,  illusion of Security

Uber safe, the official and well-heeled
Masses are marbles on roulette wheel

Stab you in the back, then bill you for it
Sell out Countrymen for fun and profit

When Kingpins monetize Uncertainty
Rational Pawns embrace C’EST LA VIE

Recovery Wisdom warns expectations
Are disappointments waiting to happen

Open and flexible, say enlightened They
Decidedly NOT in a Craigslist kinda way

As long as my arm, lists of Do’s & Deeds
If allowed by taskmasters Time & Money

Longer, by far, lists of I DON’T CARE
If I move on without doing that chore.

Brief is life and tremendous the planet
Said I to me and the posse in my head

Different They made travel undignified
Dignified must discover freedom inside

Freedom of thought, final frontier battle
Until Siri or Watson mind-read and tattle

Toss some wrenches in Bad Guys’ spokes
Help as I can when my path crosses folks’

Fret not paperwork,  bullies or age
Select fuller life over later grave.

My Country ‘Tis of Theocracy & Malarkey

My country ‘tis of theocracy
Bittersweet land of hypocrisy, to thee I shout;
Land where our fathers died
Land where our mothers cried
From every mountainside, let Resistance mount.

My native country, ruined
Land where once freedom reigned, thee I lament
I loved thy rock and roll
And bridges without toll
Our hearts with terror fill, per their intent.

Let anger swell the breeze
Get thee up off your knees, in freedom’s name;
Let mortal tongues awake
Let all that breathe partake
Let rocks their silence break, go ALL IN the game.

Our father’s God, to Thee
A vast apology, Thy name in vain
Long may our land be bright
With freedom’s holy light
Raise us up for the fight, to freedom gain.

To Stand or Stand Down?

.

I vote STAND, then hasten to add

Lest multiple czars I do make mad

Apprehending little enough bravery

This is rhyme principally cautionary

Not Rebel Will with which it grapples

But distinction of our own Bad Apples

The smallest percent of a little fraction

A dreadful Few without compunction

Enfants Terrible and International Elite

Nepotism, cronyism, favoritism and spite

Cliquish and clannish, cloaked in deceit

Greed beyond measure, limitless conceit

The tiniest membership of greediest Assholes

has betrayed man and country for selfish goals

The Haves who honorably earned their wealth

‘Stead of watching fortunes frittered by stealth

Would better cut bait with the Robber Baron

Begin with audit of Hank The Bank Paulson

Proud rich class known for excellent endeavor

Must smite derelict few to re-gain mass favor

To what purpose protect the Kingpins

Whose names will fall in history’s dustbins

In the fullness of time and underling rage

When blame is memorialized on the page

The best, the brightest, the richest, the statesmen

Ought recollect the pitfall of guilt by association

Deliver the Bad Guys unto public ire

Cast cloak and dagger upon the pire

Success and wealth are not crimes or offenses

But woe to those who provide Crooks’ defenses

Not class versus class but classes versus classless

If phoenix-like, Reason would rise from the ashes

.

To Stand Or Not To Stand?

I vote STAND, then hasten to add

Lest multiple czars I do make mad

Apprehending so little bravery

‘Tis rhyme merely cautionary

Not Rebel Will with which it grapples

But distinction of our own Bad Apples

The smallest percent of a little fraction

A dreadful Few without compunction

Enfants Terrible, Elite Internacional

Nepotism, cronyism, parent and pal

Cliquish and clannish, cloaked in deceit

Greed beyond measure, limitless conceit

The Haves who honorably earned their wealth

‘Stead of watching fortunes frittered by stealth

Would better cut bait with the Robber Barons

The O’Neals, Geithners, Exxons and Paulsons

A proud rich class known for excellent endeavor

Will smite derelict few if they’d gain mass favor

To what advantage protect the Kingpins

Whose names will fall in history’s dustbins

In the fullness of time and underling rage

When blame is memorialized on the page

The best and brightest, the richest and statesmen

Can circumvent the pitfall of guilt by association

Deliver the Bad Guys unto public ire

Cast cloak and dagger upon the pire

Success and wealth are not crimes or offenses

But Crooks hogtie Achievers with their defenses

Not class against class but classes against classless

If phoenix-like, Reason would arise from the ashes
