I have read arguments online about WalMart’s culpability in the trampling death of one of their employees on Black Friday. WalMart and every other retailer and every other business and, for that matter, every homeowner does have responsibilities to reasonably ensure the safety of those under their roofs. Whether WalMart adequately prepared for crowd control in light of our purportedly overriding interest in Life and its preservation will be resolved to the liking of some and the loathing of others upon the sustained expenditure of ponderous legal fees.
But what about the half-human, half-animal Minotaurs whose shod feet stamped the breath of life right out of a 34-year-young man? Manstampede, surely, is Manslaughter.
Yeah, yeah…once the mob was in motion, there was nothing anyone could do. It’s one sick statement on America and American priorities but it’s probably true. After the first few greedy fucks were over the hump of Man Down!, there probably WASN’T anything that the next several greedy fucks could do to stop the pressing swell of greedy fucks behind them.
HOWEVER, comma, what about the Media carnivores…scratch that, what about the Media CANNIBALS? The people who cannot amp high enough the anticipation of bargains that shall either save or condemn the American economy are the same ones who cluck their tongues and shake their heads over the fallout of Events that they themselves have pimped into existence.
Me, I am sick sick sick of Big Law. Big Law and Bigger Lawyers headline in damn near every single thing that ails us. Even so, I would very much like to see a wrongful death action filed against histrionic Mainstream Media outlets. You know, to send a message.
You can’t shout FIRE! in a crowded theater, nor apparently SALE! in a troubled economy.
